Cookie Preferences

We keep tracking on this site to a minimum. This page explains what cookies and similar technologies are, which categories we use, how long they last, and how you can control them.

1. What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small text file a site stores on your device so it can recognise your browser on later requests. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage (data your browser keeps for the site), and pixels or tags embedded in pages. Where we refer to "cookies" below, we mean all of these.

2. Categories we use

  • Strictly necessary — required for the site to load, to keep pages and form submissions secure, to balance traffic across servers and to remember form state while you complete our contact form. These cannot be switched off, and we set them on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure, working site.
  • Performance and diagnostics — aggregated, anonymised page-view, load-time and error data that tells us which pages are slow or broken. This data is not used to identify you or to build a profile.
  • Preferences — remembers choices such as reduced-motion or previously dismissed notices, so the site behaves consistently on your next visit.
  • Embedded media and third-party content — when you play an embedded video or open a linked community, social or streaming page, that provider may set its own cookies under its own policy. We do not control those cookies.

We do not use advertising, retargeting, cross-site profiling or data-broker cookies, and we do not sell or share information collected by cookies for advertising purposes.

3. How long cookies last

Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser and cover security and form state. Persistent cookies remain for a set period — our preference and aggregated performance identifiers typically last up to 12 months, after which they expire or are refreshed. Third-party media providers set their own durations.

4. Managing cookies in your browser

Every major browser lets you block, limit or delete cookies, usually under Settings → Privacy and security, including options for third-party cookies and per-site exceptions. You can also browse in a private or incognito window, which clears cookies when you close it. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of this site from working, such as submitting the contact form.

Clearing cookies removes your stored preferences, so choices such as reduced motion will need to be set again.

5. Do Not Track and global privacy controls

We honour browser-level "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control signals by limiting collection to strictly necessary data for that visit. Because we do not run advertising or profiling cookies, no additional opt-out is needed to prevent targeted advertising from this site.

6. Changes and questions

If we introduce a new category of cookie, we will update this page and, where consent is required, ask for it before setting them. For anything cookie or tracking related, reach us through our contact page and we will come back within one working day. See also our Privacy Policy and Data Protection & Retention pages.
